We put Danish school children of all age groups in touch with school children from other parts of the world. We are starting with South Africa.
Being twinned with a class from another culture will give your pupils first-hand stories of life from a child's point of view on the other side of the world where daily life is very different from their own.
This will give your pupils very real and meaningful new knowledge which can help to strengthen global understanding and tolerance between different cultures. Pupils will also have the chance to make friends for life from a distant culture.
You can use the twinning programme for exciting activities both within and outside the mandatory curriculum:
The children could e.g. exchange letters and e-mails about their experiences and everyday lives. It does not need to be much more ambitious than that. The children could also publish a newspaper about their own country, classes or families.
